What are composites?
Composites, also known as fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP), are materials composed of reinforcements (fibers) and a matrix (resin).
Often chosen for their low weight, durability and aesthetic quality, composites can be designed for purpose – allowing you more flexibility and application possibilities.
Designing with Composites
Successful composite design starts with aligning structure, materials and manufacturing from the earliest stages of development. By considering fibre placement, geometry, load paths and production methods together, engineers can improve structural performance, manufacturability and long-term reliability while reducing unnecessary complexity.
