We are seeking a

Cost Accountant

who will focus on cost accounting and inventory management. The Cost Accountant will maintain accurate inventory using several different processes and determining the cause of any inaccuracies. These processes include cycle counting, report running, and maintaining a high level of communication among various departments. This position reports to the Business Unit Manager in our Erlanger, Kentucky office.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage input costs related to manufactured products
  • Provide
    • management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
    • recommendations to management on improving yields, reducing costs, and increasing efficiencies
  • Analyze
    • changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs
    • manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
    • actual production costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs in cooperation with the Development team
  • Make estimates of new and proposed product costs in cooperation with the Development team
  • Prepare actual vs. plan (budget) analysis and various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information
  • Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, CPA or CMA preferred
  • 4+ years’ hands-on experience in product costing, preferred in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, team building with analytical skills
  • Strong MS Office skills. Experience with EPICOR beneficial
  • Excellent oral, planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter
  • Fluent written and spoken English
