We are currently seeking

Product Business Owner Electric segment/Area Sales Manager, Germany

to our Voerde unit in Germany. Working from home office is also possible. 

Task and responsibilities

The first objective of this dual responsibility position is to develop and manage electrical product business of Exel globally to maximize order intake (Exel top line in absolute figure), profitable revenue growth and market share. The other objective of this position is to win business, drive sales projects and make agreements with selected customers in Germany.

  • The Product Business Owner (electric) main responsibilities are:

    Creating the product business sales and marketing strategy, derived from the Exel Group’s business plan and strategy, and implementing it together with the Exel Sales and Marketing organization. Special focus to new customers and new areas.

    The Product Business Owner will be also a global Key Account Manager of major electrical segment customers, which could be located also outside Germany.

    The Product Business Owner Electric reports to SVP Sales & Marketing.
  • The Area Sales Manager (Germany) main responsibilities are:

    Exel Order Intake and revenues growth in a geographical area from selected customers. Actively seek out and engage new customer relationships using cold call techniques, business directories, prospects, onsite field visits etc. The product and application portfolio is defined case by case based on selected persons’ knowledge, experience and network. Default is that the whole Exel product portfolio is in scope.

    The Area Sales Manager reports to Head of Sales Region, North Europe.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in outside sales in an industrial environment. Experience from electrical industry is a clear plus
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to think strategically
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills with the ability to persuade and influence others to close sales cases
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Understanding or ability to learn composite technology
  • Experience from project management and/or product development and/or product management is helping to be successful in this position
  • Proven track record in solution selling as well as development and commercializing new applications and products in co-operation with customers
  • Willingness and ability to travel with flexible schedules as required to achieve objectives. Driving license is needed
  • Fluent spoken and written German and English. Other languages are beneficial
